Why is Yin Yoga so challenging?

Challenging you ask?

The combination of mental and physical distraction makes Yin Yoga quite possibly more demanding than any other form of yoga.

Coming to terms with the ins and outs of your own body both physically and mentally can be confronting but the beauty of this practice is very much in HOW you embrace this and to especially not be too hard on yourself.

Yin yoga works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses.

It targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is in contrast to a Yang yoga pra

ctice such as Vinyasa yoga which targets the muscles.

Many of us have too little yin in their lives, including me,

and by practicing Yin Yoga on a regular basis it will support you in:

☑️ Calming your mind and body

☑️ Reducing stress and anxiety

☑️ Increasing circulation

☑️ Improving flexibility

☑️ Releasing fascia and improving joint mobility

☑️ Balancing your internal organs and improving the flow of chi or prana

We offer several Yin, Yin & Restorative (with Sound Bowls) classes throughout the week. We encourage you to incorporate a little more yin in your lives as well!
